Single Air Covered Yarn (ACY) is a composite elastic yarn where a spandex (elastane) core is intermingled with a nylon or polyester filament sheath using compressed air instead of mechanical twisting.

Unlike Single Covered Yarn (SCY), which uses a hollow spindle to physically wrap the outer filament around the core, ACY relies on high-pressure air jets to intermittently open and entangle the sheath filaments with the spandex core. This creates a softer, bulkier, more fabric-like hand feel with no visible twist pattern on the surface.

These three specifications follow the same denier naming convention - the first two digits indicate the nylon outer denier, and the last two digits indicate the spandex core denier:

• 2075: 20D nylon over 75D spandex - ultra-fine and lightweight, used in sheer hosiery, lightweight seamless underwear, and thin stretch fabrics where minimal bulk and a soft touch are essential.
• 3075: 30D nylon over 75D spandex - a balanced mid-range option offering moderate coverage and durability, suitable for sportswear, compression garments, and everyday socks.
• 4075: 40D nylon over 75D spandex - the heaviest outer layer, providing maximum abrasion resistance and core protection, ideal for high-wear areas like sock cuffs, waistbands, and performance activewear.
